Let’s just talk about Jack for a moment. Take a second to realize just how much he went through - how much he suffered. He went 300 years of invisibility, had to endure that by himself. He was a lonely boy, and that made him awfully brittle, mistrustful, and hesitant to place his faith in others. But he never stopped being Jack. He didn’t become a cold, heartless figure like Pitch. He kept that warmth in his heart. And that’s one of the most beautiful things about Jack Frost: he had perspective. He may not have known exactly where he was going, but he at least enjoyed the journey. He feared being invisible for the rest of his days - but when Jamie sees him, it’s like his entire world catches a spark of light. And he clings to that, because he’s afraid that this little light will flicker out.
But, ladies and gentlemen, I’d just like to point out that Jack is so much more than what we see - he’s so beautifully real and complex. He’s so human. Maybe that’s why I simply adore him so much - because he’s made mistakes, and he’s tried to fix them, but he has shown compassion, bravery and selflessness all the while. And to me, that means more than what most other characters these days stand for - he’s a quiet hero.
